Nepal Flood Relief: Standing with Those Affected

Patan, Nepal | 13 September 2026

Our three-member humanitarian assessment and relief team continued its field visits across flood-affected communities in Nepal, working from our base at Lumbini Heritage Home in Patan.

Our first visit was to the Yellow Gumba Holding Centre, where approximately 565 flood-affected people are currently staying. We met with the medical team and learned that around 200 patients are being seen every day, highlighting the continuing need for healthcare, medicines and essential humanitarian support.

We then travelled to Devi Ghat along the Trishuli River, where we witnessed the devastating impact of the floods. Roads, infrastructure and homes have been severely damaged, with several structures completely destroyed. Visible flood marks and local indications suggested that water levels reached approximately 30–40 feet in some areas.

Seeing the destruction firsthand was deeply emotional. Behind every damaged home is a family whose life has been disrupted and who now faces the difficult journey of rebuilding.

Our assessment identified several urgent priorities, including food and ration support, medical care, clean water and sanitation, shelter, essential household supplies, and continued support for displaced and vulnerable families.

Our team will continue visiting affected communities, listening to local representatives and service providers, and assessing where assistance is most urgently needed.

After a long day in the field, we safely returned to Patan to review our findings and plan the next steps.

We are grateful to everyone praying for, supporting and standing with this humanitarian mission.
